French Festival

July 10-11, 2010

An annual celebration of the Cape Vincent’s French roots takes place over two days the second weekend in July. The festival has a plethora of traditional foods and a multitude of attractions. A parade led by Napoleon highlights French culture in the North Country followed by a French Mass given at the St. Vincent of Paul church. The following day a craft fair will be held selling traditional and modern goods.

Jefferson County Fair

Bill Johnstons Pirate Days

The Alexandria Bay Pirates Weekend celebrates Captain Bill Johnston, a privateer who destroyed the British ship the Sir Robert Peel and then hid in the Thousand Islands. An invasion of Alexandria Bay by a two masted wooden ship takes place with cannons blazing is staged as excitement for the whole family. Spanning two weekend in August there are plenty of activities around town for your inner pirate.
